Why do the "Wonderful World" paintings and book? Long story, short...they were laid on my heart to do.
Looking back now over 4 years later, I can see what God was doing. I first was led to do the East Central MN Resource Guide in April 2012 (read about that on the FAQ page. The guide is free to print or view). That was finished within 3 weeks! I figured the 80%-20% rule. If 80% was relatively done, it was a go. I had to be obedient to God, not my ego. I was okay that it wasn't perfect and after 5 printings the errors are finally fixed! Which brings us to the paintings...
After much prayer and doubt (I'm not a master painter, and also because of the time and expense involved), I got a big confirmation from God (another story in itself). So in July 2013 I started the paintings. Sure I had doubts and people who would deter me, but the end result was to show Romans 1:20 and that yes, there is a God. I had to remind myself that it was about being obedient. Someone once told me, "They're not Rembrandt's." Yeah, kinda know that. Again, I put the 80%-20% rule in effect. No, they're not masterpieces, but they were not about me, but done to show God in everything. Onto the book... This was on my heart before the other 2 projects and I had been researching and working on it in bits and pieces when I could find time. I now have been able to work on the book full time since January 2016. There will be mistakes--I'm only human, but I have to keep in mind the 80%-20% rule...and obedience. |
![]() I saw this saying on the internet and loved it. So I emailed the author and got permission to use it! I marvel when I look at the massive variety of butterflies...one of many of God's calling card to us.
![]() I had to do this trio of pieces after taking these pictures in Venice, Italy. I gave this one away at a fundraiser, and this trio is also for sale in Prints. When I have time, I want to add more photos from Europe.

![]() There's truth in this statement...had to do it. It doesn't matter what we go through, or are going through, when we focus on God there's a way out. My sanity: the bible, prayer, fellowship, and faith. This is a free print that you can download here.
![]() I took this picture at the Como Zoo Butterfly Garden (it's no longer there)...I kinda like those butterflies! I did some fancy filtering in Photoshop to achieve this effect. This was a piece given away at a Mayo Clinic fundraiser.
