Book Break - Rest & Renewal

4/27/2020

Picture
Hi there!

I will be taking a needed extended break so I can come back to the book refreshed and passionate! The last five years have been very busy with the Wonderful World Collection and the Wonderful World Book. Plus lots of life events taking place.

I need to get back into balance and give myself some rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. My plan is in May I will be back on the book full time.

I will continue to update the home page with uplifting videos and poems during this pandemic. Take care and God's blessings!

Book - Chapter 4, Amp., Aquatic, Reptiles

4/9/2020

Here is a Red Tree Frog from page 86. I think they are a pretty fascinating frog, but then again I love all of God's creatures. Although, I'm not to partial to spiders but when you see the work involved in creating them, they are breathtaking.

Book - Chapter 4 - Intriguing Info

3/4/2020

Picture
For some reason, I did the last page first. I just go where the spirit takes me! This is page 112, Intriguing Info. I'll add the additional critters on the bottom under Animal Classification, once I get to them.

Who knew there were 5 different kinds of blood in animals? Maybe you, but not me! Either way, creation is quite fascinating! There's always something to learn and I'm having so much fun learning new things daily! Thank you God!

Picture
Finally finished this! Wow, they sure take a while but fun to do! Next up is Frogs & Toads.

CHAPTER TITLE PAGE STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Type out chapter title.
  2. Make it white with a drop shadow.
  3. Outline text and then set a scribble effect. Place behind text.
  4. Type out chapter number, place underneath title.
  5. Find 52-58 silhouette images.
  6. Import them into Adobe Illustrator.
  7. Arrange them on page; small, medium & large.
  8. Make some images compound paths, such as the sea jelly. (Any images with shapes within their body.)
  9. Fill with scribble effect.
  10. Make all images a compound path and fill with color!
  11. Go through all images and tweak feet, flippers, fins. Anything that is smushed together needs to be fixed.
  12. Use same background for all chapter titles. (a 5 step process).

Book - Chapter 3 - Various Bugs

12/13/2019

Picture
Finally! Chapter 3 is officially done! I added a bunch of different bugs on this last page spread; Thorn Bug, Harlequin Bug, Scorpionfly, and more.

For those of you who have purchased the eBook, I will be updating all of Chapter 3 as soon as I'm able.

Now onto the Chapter 4 Cover which will probably take me all week as they are difficult to do.

(It's been a crazy couple of months on the health front, so I apologize for this delay.)

Okay, yes, these are the creepy crawly bugs. And, yes, I wouldn't want one of these walking on me, but they are beautifully created!

I eventually (perhaps when I'm finished with the book) will have to go back and add a link for each image so the bibliography is correct. 72 pages, so about 450 images or so.

Next up: Cicada, Conehead, Cricket, Giant Weta, Grasshopper, Green Lacewing, Katydid, Lantern Bug, Locust, Mantis, Brazilian Tree Hopper, and Walkingstick

Book - Chapter 3 - Cecropia Caterpillar and Moth

4/9/2019

Picture
Had to post this incredible caterpillar!

Wow! If you doubted God exists ...
see the beauty,
notice the details,
look at the design,
and there's symmetry too!

And this is but one insect in a vast variety of amazing insects.

Then add to this the complexity of humans, animals, birds, amphibians, aquatics, reptiles, food, herbs, spices, flowers, plants, trees, elements, fossils, rocks, and the solar system. Kinda makes you marvel, huh?

Book, Chapter 3 - Bird, Bugs - African Skimmer Bird

9/14/2018

Wow! This was such a neat bird, I had to post it.

The African Skimmer has a bill structure that is one of a kind. The lower bill is much longer than the upper bill, and flattened sideways like scissor blades.

African skimmers fly in lines over calm waters, and dip their lower bills in the water to feed. When the bill touches a fish, the skimmer snaps its mouth shut. They feed mostly at dawn and dusk and have good night vision.

Book - Bird, Bugs Chapter 3 - Wading Birds

9/4/2018

Picture
Wading Birds, also known as, Water Birds have flown the coop! Finally, back on track after a busy 9 months!

Up next: Seabirds
Auklet, Cormorant, Frigate, Gannet, Guillemot, Pelican, Penguin, Puffin, Seagull, Skimmer, Tern, Tropicbird

We saw a mess of pelicans at a local wildlife refuge. Not sure if they are just stopping over for a quick bite and then heading south?? I'll have to research that...

[Just noticed the spacing issue in Flamingo text, so fixed that!]

Book - Birds, Bugs Chapter 3 - Tropical Birds

6/1/2018

You've probably noticed that I shortened my website: jacqueb.com (jackeebee) SAME WEBSITE, EASIER TO SPELL!

The reason this page spread is delayed is that I was recovering from a cardiac ablation. At any rate, I'm back at it now!

There are so many amazing birds, and sometimes I can't take it all in because they are so stunning and beautiful and yet one more example of the creative handiwork of God!

Water Birds are coming next: Crowned Crane, Curlew, Egret, Flamingo, Gallinule, Grebe, Heron, Ibis, Loon, Spoonbill, Stork, Swan. (I love the call of the loon when we're camping up north!)

See ya in two! (about 2 weeks, that is)

(Manteca is the lard. It says lard on one side and manteca on the other side.)
