New 'Looser' Landscape Petite Painting

'Hidden Cove' is an 8" x 10" Original Acrylic Painting. This is one of many upcoming 'looser' style paintings that I want to try. Practice, practice, practice and more practice! I'm game.

Do you see the heart and cross in the painting? Purely by accident...but plan on looking for them in all of my upcoming paintings/drawings. Celebrating my bonus years since my OHS!

The cost is $100 and it is signed by the artist.

This painting of a Monarch Butterfly was done loosely and I used sandpaper again to distress it. I have entered 2 Petite Paintings (PP-5, PP-6) and another large butterfly painting into an art contest through the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) for their website and their American Butterflies Magazine. All 3 paintings are for sale. The 6" x 6" Petite Paintings (PP-5, PP-6) are $50 each. The 23.5" x 31.5" Butterfly Poem Painting is on sale for $250.

Summer is coming and I had to paint one of my favorite flowers! The flower has thicker paint. I painted the sides if you want to hang this without a frame. Here's 3 ways on how to do it. It takes me 3 hours to do most petite paintings. This one is several layers of paint and then I sandpapered the background and bits of the sunflower. Each petite is $50. I pay the shipping and taxes...plus checkout fees, paint & supply costs!

We have 3 bluebird houses in our backyard and the bluebirds are building their families. Love the little bluebirds as they put a smile on my face. I did a looser style which I think I'll stick with for awhile. The bluebird has a bit thicker paint. Taken with my iPad so colors aren't exact but pretty accurate.

I took this photograph of a waterlily. I painted it in a bit different style than I normally do. I loved it so much I adopted it as my business logo. The waterlily is textured which shows up better in the close-up.

Had so much fun trying something new with my friend, Deborah Ann Kirkeeide, who really knows how to do this style. This is one of my petite paintings on a 6" x 6" Museum Panel. I can't wait to experiment and try an animal now...one of my favorite's of God's blessings.
